File Setup Guidelines
To ensure your project runs smoothly and prints flawlessly, please follow these best practices when preparing files for submission:
General Preparation
- Package all InDesign files using the automatic packaging feature—include native files, linked assets, and fonts to allow for adjustments and requested changes.
- Use CMYK color mode for all links and swatches when printing in 4-color.
Color & Resolution
- Convert black elements to our rich black build: 50C, 50M, 50Y, 100K for fonts 20pt+, rules above 2pt, or solid fills.
- Ensure image resolution is at least 300 PPI for both inkjet and digital printing.
Error Prevention
- Run a preflight check to catch missing fonts, broken links, incorrect color spaces, or overset text. Preflight profiles are available upon request.
- ZIP (compress) files before emailing or uploading to prevent corruption.
Bleeds & Dielines
- Include at least .125" bleed on all files; for wide-format jobs, .25" bleed is preferred.
- Place dielines on a separate layer and assign a bright spot color to the stroke swatch.
